INDUSTRY 4.0 DEMONSTRATORS FOR WALLONIA

Three industry 4.0 demonstrators are to be deployed in Wallonia during 2019 to provide training in new digital technologies and enable manufacturing companies to experiment with the technologies before integrating them into their production processes.

A demonstrator is an experimental workshop that is modular and can be reconfigured, integrating every phase of a manufacturing production process: making components, storage, assembly, quality control, packaging, data communication, etc. Industry 4.0 technologies will be added to the workshop in order to improve performance, flexibility and product personalisation, make tasks less tedious, improve quality, etc. Real interconnected machines that are part of the partner’s initial equipment will supplement the production chain.

The industry 4.0 demonstrators aim to spread the digital concepts and technologies of the fourth industrial revolution as widely as possible among our companies, as regards both training and integration. These demonstrators target primarily industrial SMEs that have to retain a competitive advantage in order to maintain and plan the growth of their activities.
