Digital challenges: in Namur, we’re facing them together!

The University of Namur is witnessing extraordinary growth, both in terms of the number of students, particularly foreign students, young people and adults alike, and as regards the services and infrastructures available to businesses and to society. It applies the ‘3 As’ rule: Accueil, Attractivité et Agilité (Welcome, Attractiveness and Agility).
The digital sector, based on its highly advanced abilities, is without any doubt the best proof of this involvement.

Its specialist areas are Artificial intelligence, Big Data, huge databases, the collaborative economy, innovation and services, security and privacy, software programs and systems, technology and society, smart cities,… and of course, the ways in which these subjects can support the development of other sectors, in particular the medical sector.

UNamur was a pioneer in computing sciences, creating the first IT faculty in Europe in 1970. The Namur Digital Institute, which brings together over 150 researchers from UNamur, was officially opened on 23 October 2018.
